Walking in and around Athens, you will have the chance to meet Sonke’s street art. Using mainly black and white colors Sonke has achieved the incredible: to turn some of the most unwelcoming Athenian neighborhoods into a real art gallery.

He usually paints shapes of girls or sad couples reflecting the “heartbroken love”. In a unique way he manages to gain attention through his technique. Sonke himself has characterized his makings as “hurt, pathetic lovers”.

Sonke has been blooming various corners or walls of Athens since 1998. The figures in his paintings also communicate sadness, which is strongly associated with his inspiration through the city atmosphere and people. In 2011 the artist hosted his first art exhibition in Hoxton, Gazi where a part of his work was available to the public.

Take a walk in the streets of Athens and simply sense how the atmosphere of his art will take you into another world.
